As an Internet Marketer I'm always looking for some places where I can post my links and generate some extra traffic. So when a Friend of mine told me that they were using Redgage for backlinks (they are do-follow) I decided to check Redgage out.

When the CEO of Google says their new focus is "Mobile First" while addressing Congress, online marketers should take notice.

Every online marketer and writer is on a journey. This journey towards online success and profits often if not always starts off rocky. Its actually a very select few who make it past the rocky start and dont quit due to discouraging returns from their efforts.

I also learned that you don't need to spend lots of money to get traffic. Article writing is a great way to promote an affiliate product. At first, article writing was very intimidating, but what I do is I just write the way that I talk. At first it took me forever to write an article, now I can get an article out in about a half hour.
It's just like anything else in life. It takes practice. The more you do and the more you develop your skills the easier it will get and the results will follow.

And no, you don't need to go broke getting started in affiliate marketing and internet based business programs. There are many free article sites like Squidoo, Hub pages and or EzineArticles that you can use to post your articles and of course this will generate traffic.

Blogging is another great strategy. If you have never blogged before, blog-spot or blogger is a great place to start. It is a free blog owned by Google.

But its about consistent effort. You can't just post one article here and there, you need to write daily. Let's face it, unless people actually see your articles you will not make sales. It's about massive action.

I find many people throw up a few pages of content and a couple of links and then start waiting for the money to miraculously hit their pay-pal account. It doesn't work that way. But with time....Wow!

Write articles for Article Sites. There are many places to post articles. I suggest you start with ezine articles.
Use bookmarking sites like digg, and stumbleupon or tagfoot to promote.
Promote through social networking. Every time you make an update be sure to tweet it (through twitter, post on face book)

The secret here is don't quit or get discouraged. Keep going. Some campaigns get quick results while others take longer. But something to keep in mind is that once your stuff is on the Internet it will be there forever. So you may make money years after you wrote the article. Borrowing from your credit card to invest in your online business or home-based business: good idea or bad move?

This is a great question that was posted on Work From Home Board by Debby Stewart. I wanted to share my response here.

From Personal experience, I say don't do it.

In my first business 6 years ago (an MLM) I invested over $1500 in products that were difficult to move and I spent about $1000 a month in buying leads. It was a lesson learned.

Long story short. If I were starting all over again with very little money, I would start with free advertising like free classifieds, blogging, article writing, squidoo etc. and then I would roll the profits back into my business until I could start doing some paid advertising like pay per click.

The only thing worth investing in would be personal development products that would help to teach me the skills that I need or perhaps a proven system to help me be successful. For example 2 years ago I invested in Mike Dillard's Magnetic Sponsoring. Because I wanted to learn how to "attract Prospects" rather than buy leads. It was a great investment.

Make sense? So I would only invest in personal development and do free marketing until I gained the skills to be successful.

Still Buying Leads? What if prospects actually called you?

I did exactly what my up line told me to do. I invested in buying leads. I was told that if I wanted to be successful, I should call these leads and use the proven script that was given to me. I found that this was easier said than done. Often I would be hung up on or the person would say that they are no longer interested.

I found myself getting frustrated. I was following my steps exactly as I was trained and I just wasn’t getting results. Worse, I was going broke by continuing to buy leads. I thought it was something I was doing wrong, or maybe I just got a bad batch of leads.

But the truth is, my up-line didn’t know the secret and was therefore passing on bad information to me. She didn’t know that selling is about building relationships with people and being attractive so that people would come to me. This is called attraction marketing.

So I stopped trying to “get” people to join my business. Now I simply give away my knowledge and friendship without a hidden agenda. Now people are joining me.

Attraction marketing is a totally different approach to networking.

If I could go back in the past to my early days and tell myself not to purchase leads for a business I would have prevented a lot of frustration. But I think everything happens for a reason and I learned a lot through what wasn't working for me. It lead me to search for what would work.

My search brought me to Mike Dillard's Magnetic Sponsoring Course.

With the old school method of buying leads, I was not getting the results I wanted. First of all I was spending lots of money but more importantly I felt like a complete failure because it just wasn't working. I was getting hung up on and had people yell at me. Boy did I feel like a nuisance.

On one of the forums that I belong to someone asked, "What is the best system to generate traffic without going broke?". This is a great question. All over the internet there are many people advertising that they have a system the "does it all for you". I'm sure you have seen those too. I can assure you that is a lie. I promise you over the last 6 years I have seen it all and checked out many "systems". Here's what I learned....

There isn't one system or method that will bring you traffic. But there are many ways very inexpensive ways to generate traffic to your site. Mike Dillards Building on a budget course is excellent for newbies learning how to build on a budget.

I use many methods to generate traffic to my sites.

Here are a few of the free methods that I use.

Squidoo is my number 1 method! I get huge traffic and it is free + you can get paid with them.

My second is my blog.

3rd is forums. Just write good content and never advertise. Place you link in your signature. When people like what you write, they will often visit your website to see what you are all about.

I also utilize facebook, twitter and myspace...........all free.

You just need to invest the time and don't ever directly market. Instead build relationships and help others. When people like what you have to say, they will click your link or visit your profile in order to check it out. It's pretty cool.

I was watching a Hannah Montana video the other day, (hey, give me a break... I have a 3 year old that loves her) and saw a new music video she has called "The Climb". It reminded me so much of network marketing.

I believe we have way too many people joining this industry everyday that are looking for that "lottery ticket" to wealth or the easiest "auto pilot" business to success. Unfortunately, those of us that are eager for that first sponsor or another quick sale are providing success stories and all of the hype of joining their business without mentioning the climb it took to get where they are today.

I think it is very important to share with my prospects the actual journey I took to get where I am today. They need to know that they are going to fail their way too the top. They need to know that they need to increase their knowledge of the business and increase their self value. It's important for them to know that it just doesn't happen overnight....maybe not even weeks, or months.

As leaders, if you start to share your journey, or your climb with your prospects you wll start to weed out the tire kickers and uncover the diamonds that have the true entrepreneurial spirit in them. Those are the people that will build a strong business for you and themselves!

I know what you mean. My well intentioned upline taught me all the old school methods that didnt work and sucked me into all of the hype! I quickly learned that this is an incredible industy but it is about building your buisiness on the rocks rather than the sand. Or you may call it "Getting rich slow". Networking is about building good solid relationships and then building your team, one person at a time. It's about caring more about them, rather than the money that you are making from them. When you build people and build relationships, you can own your life!

Forums are one of my favorite methods on social networking. I get to meet great people, pick up tips, share ideas and advertise my business. If you are new to forums you should no that you don't want to post the link to your website or place blatant ads. What you want to do, is join in on some of the discussions and get to know people. Most forums give you an option to add a signature link. This signature will do the advertising for you. So if you write good content, people will often click the link in your profile.

I wanted to invite you to join one of the MLM forums that I moderate. Work From Home Board is a great place to meet other net-workers. I have several forums that I belong to. This one is a smaller group and has some really nice people. By the way, your signature doesn't appear until you do 25 posts.

I created this lens less than 2 weeks ago and today I see that it is ranking #9 in business and #217 overall. This is really cool. Plus I've had over 100 hits. The really cool thing is that it has been indexed with Google and I just did a search and it is number 1!

As I've mentioned over and over again, I love Social Networking Sites like Twitter, Squidoo and facebook. I get to meet the most amazing people. Today I want to talk about twitter. I have been really enjoying Twitter. Okay, I'm a little addicted to it, but I really enjoy socializing and getting to know other people. Plus the traffic to my site is incredible! But one of my biggest challenges is keeping up with all of the tweets. I now am following over 2000 people.

Well, I read were a friend of mine really liked Tweet-deck and so I decided to check it out. Now I've only been using it for a day but I have to tell you it is really neat. First of all it is easy to set up and use. You can shorten your URL's and send pictures direct to. But what I really like is that when you respond to someone, you can see when they respond back. Their tweet doesn't get lost in all of the other tweets. Plus you can sort your friends into groups. So far I really like it.

It also takes time to build a business. This is NOT get rich quik. It takes time and effort. Most people don't start to see real residual income for 2-3 years. The problem is lots of people quit before they start to see results.

One of the biggest frustrations that people have in growing a business is in finding good quality leads. And in a effort to get people to join their business they are actually scaring people away by using old school methods and high pressure sales tactics that don't work.

What works is attraction marketing. The best leads are the ones who come to you. Wouldn't it be great if you could attract prospects to you who are looking to join a business. Better yet what if you got paid even if they didn't join you in your business? This is why I use a funded proposal. A funded proposal is when you offer an inexpensive information product in order to gain the persons contact information. What you end up with is a list of people who are looking for what you have to offer. You can create your own system or you can use one that is already created like Magnetic Sponsoring. This is the one that I use. It is only 10:30am and I have already earned an extra $20. The benefit of using a funded proposal is you get paid even if the person never signs up for your business. It is a win win for everyone. I get to help people and give them good quality information to help them with their business plus I am being paid for my time and effort.

My son told me he was playing around on the Internet and did a search for me and he couldn't believe all of the things that he found.

This brings up a good point that I think every net-worker should be aware of. It is really really important to use your name when you market.

When I first started marketing 6 years ago, I was afraid to use my name and began using a nick name on the Internet. I thought that if I used my real name, I would have people calling me and bugging me. I quickly learned that if you want to be successful in network marketing you need to open up and let people know a little bit about you.

Using your name gives you integrity. It lets people know that you are real and you don't have anything to hide. Now this doesn't mean that if you use a nickname that you do have something to hide. I'm just saying for me, when I started using my real name, I started getting better results on the Internet. I think a lot of it is perception. I tend to see someone more as an expert when they use their name rather than a nick name. Think of it this way, would you think of Mike Dillard the same way if he marketed his business with the nick name MickieDillie? I don't think I would. When you use your name when marketing your home based business it gives you more integrity.

And as my son Josh pointed out, another huge reason why I use my name is because I want people to be able to find me. I have had clients contact me and when I ask them how they found me, they said they saw a post on a forum and then googled my name. Now how cool is that. By the way, google loves Squidoo and forum posts.

So go right now and google you name. What do you see?

I knew I needed a proven duplicatable system in order to grow my MLM business. I looked at a few and even joined a few. And discovered that the best system needs to have these 3 things.

#1 You need to have a website that anyone can use to generate prospects. Most people do not have the skills to create their own website. Nor will they know how to set up an auto-responder system. The great thing about using a system is that it is done for you and you can get started right away.

#2 You need to have an excellent support system and team of people eager to help you. A lot of people don't have up-line support. Or they may have an up-line who doesn't have a clue what they are doing. Be sure to pick a system that has a wonderful group of people ready to help you.

#3 You should not have to pay a monthly website fee to use the site.
Some systems charge you 19.95 or more a month to use their site. Choose a system that lets you use their site for free. Better yet, choose a system that pays you to prospect. That's what I did. With Magnetic Sponsoring, I am earning money even if people don't join me in my primary business.

Why I Love Social Networking Sites...

I love social networking and my business is exploading because of it. Here are some of the tips I learned....

Don't ever tell people about your company. They don't care! (I know it hurts to hear this, but it's true) When you lead with your company or product you scare people away. First impressions mean a lot. And you don't want people thinking you are a high pressure MLM person prospecting them do you?

People join people. So be attractive and let people know who you are. Give yourself freely. Offer to help people.

Network Marketing is about people. It's not about some company or products.

By the way, my number 1 tip for social networking sites...

Use your name if possible as your user name. Why, because google loves social sites and forums. Use your name if you can. When people do a google search for "Wendy Krick" I want them to be able to find me.

Warning.....I'm about to vent.

This morning I visited one of my Network Marketing forums and noticed that I had several e-mails. Not one of those e-mails were from someone who just wanted to connect with me. All of them were people attempting to "sell me" on their product or company.

There is so much information on the Internet about attraction marketing. I just did a google search and found 12,500,000 sites and yet people still don't get it.

The way I felt when I read and deleted those e-mails just proves the fact that people don't like to be sold. I know I don't and I'm sure you don't either. If I was only able to give one piece of advise to a network marketer my advise would be this.

Stop Selling your product. Throw away your agenda. Instead build relationships and truly care. Give real value. You will be surprised when people come to you and ask you about your business. This is what attraction marketing is all about.

In Network Marketing you are constantly learning new things. You also learn a lot of lessons. Here are a few of the lessons I learned in 2008.

The first lesson was that old school methods like buying leads, home parties and bugging friends and family don't work. People don't want to be prospected. So I learned to become the leader that people would want to follow and people began coming to me.

I also learned that you need a proven duplicatable system to grow your business. This way your new prospects can easily follow you.

So I began researching different systems and signed up for two of them.

Both systems were very similar. They both focused on attraction marketing. They both had wonderful resource's to teach you the skills you needed to be successful. I loved them both and learned a lot from both of them.

By now I think most people in the world know about blogs.

What most don’t know as there is a great income to be made as well for free.

Rob Benwell is only a mere 24 years old and has already made several million dollars. Early in 2006 he shared his secrets with the world in his highly successful Blogging To The Bank ebook and has made making money online a whole lot easier for everyone.

This should be printed out and put on the wall of every online marketer without a doubt! His book starts off with market research (so that you are making the most of your time) to building your blogging empire. Everything is covered in this new outing that helps bloggers withtodays online issues regarding making the all mighty search engines happy.

If you are not on twitter, you need to be. It generates huge traffic for me. The key is you want to follow people who have the same interests as you. Once you start to follow people, they will begin to follow you. Then as you begin to update your tweets (just let people know what your are doing) you will start to see traffic to your site.

How do you find people that have the same interest? What I do is I use Twitter Search. I type in a keyword of something that is of interest to me. For example I love Squidoo. So I do a Twitter Search for Squidoo. This will show me all of the latest Tweets with the word Squdioo in the post. I then start visiting their lenses and rating their lenses. When I find a lens that I love, I give it five stars, leave a comment and then follow the person on twitter. Most people will reciprocate. It is a great tool.

With this statagy I now have over 900 followers.

Social Sites are great ways to keep in touch with friends as well as a great way to make new friends.

I have build my home based business without spending money one advertising. I simply build relationships with people and make new friends. I don't know about you, but it sure is a fun way to grow a business.

This is a post on one of the MLM Forums that I visit and it is such a perfect word picture I had to post it here. Thank you Marcello!

Now all of a Sudden that $300 per Month of Extra Income from his MLM business turned into $2000 per month...NOT because his MLM business Grew but because he paid off his second Mortgage on the Rental Property so let's do the Math...$300 from his MLM business + $600 from his First Mortgage Paid off + $1,100 from his Rental Property Income...

He then decided to take that EXTRA $2000 and buy more Rental Properties. He took the entire Revenue from the Rental Properties along with his $2000 of EXTRA Income and Paid off all the Mortgages on the New Rental Properties within 2 Years...

And Guess What? Today this man is a Multi-MILLIONAIRE and a Real Estate Mogul and STILL receiving his $300 dollar Monthly check from his Network Marketing business.

The Point of this Story is that the dream of being a Six Figure Income earner in MLM / Network Marketing is HYPED UP ALL THE TIME and reality when you are able to start making EXTRA Income from home no matter what the amount is can Dramatically change your lives.

Trust your inner voice

I did exactly what I was told by my up-line.

I followed the system. Purchased leads. I called through those leads every day, because, as I was told, it's a numbers game and the more no's I get, the closer I get to the yes's. I stuck to the script, because this is how I was taught. If and when someone joined me, I only looked for the serious ones. They had to have a huge why and were serious. Serious enough to invest in advertising. I encouraged others to invest. And only invested my time in the 20% that were serious.

So why didn't' it work? Why, when I was making great money did it not feel good?

I have heard that we all have the answers within us. We all have an inner voice with the answers.

I knew deep down, that I was being lied to and I was in fact passing on those lies.

It had to stop.

Brainwashing is a tough word but it is the only way to describe what I allowed my up-line to do to me. I let them suck me into the hype and excitement. I looked at the flashy checks that they held up at training and on their sites. (I now know this is against the law-It's called enticement). I got sucked in.

How could I allow it to happen?

I believe in order for me to find my true passion and help others learn the truth I had to fail. I had to get hit really hard upside my head.

Today I own my life! I learned how to think rather than what to think. I got educated.

Do you have a little voice inside of you telling you that something just isn't right. Trust that voice. It knows.

To Divulge or Not To Divulge?...That is The Question

Here is a copy of the post I read on one of my MLM forums that I visit.

Using Attraction Marketing to build your MLM business is the only way to go, as far as I'm concerned. So here is the $1,000,000 question: Do you divulge your "opportunity" anywhere on your better networker profile? What about if someone links to your blog...should you divulge it there? Or another website that you have...should you divulge it there?

We are all networking on this website in order to bring value, insight and support to others in our profession. In addition, by doing so we hope to develop relationships with people who may decide they respect our expertise and vision and want to join in our opportunity. So do we let them see what it is somewhere online? For most, if I Google hard enough I can find what MLM they are involved with. For some, it is right there on their profile or at least a link on their blog. There are a few where it's close to impossible without direct contact...and maybe that's the key to this question/discussion.

I'm hoping to stimulate a discussion here, as I believe there are many viewpoints and reasons on this topic. What do you think? Deborah

I love this topic and my answer may be a little unpopular but it is from my heart.

I truly believe that MLM is a relationship business not a sales business.

Most of the people on this site are network marketers and are already happy in a business. With that said, I don't market my company or product here since most people are in a company.

For this reason, I don't have an agenda of getting them to look at my company. Instead I focus on helping others. I give of myself freely without a hidden agenda.

Down the road, when someone is looking for a company, they may come to me since they trust me. Why? Because I was a friend to them and never prospected them.

It is a fact that the moment I stopped marketing my MLM and started being a servant leader that my business started to grow. It sounds weird but I promise you relationship building is the secret to succeeding in this industry.

I'm a huge believer in the law of attraction.

How to Turn People On while Social Networking

Don't Ever tell them about your company.

People join Social Networking Sites because they want to meet people, or they want to promote their business (just like you). Yes, some people go there to find out about opportunities but they are a minority.

So if most people are not looking for a company or they are in a company, Why would you tell them about your company? That will just turn them off.

Social Networking Sites are about building relationships. As you get to know people they will begin to trust you. You will become friends. So do just that. Get to know people.

Don't post your link or e-mail them some ad about how great your business is. Instead let them find your link in your signature or in your profile.

If you are networking correctly and really caring about people, I promise you people will be wanting to check you out.

Chapter 8 of Think and Grow Rich

“Keep your eyes and ears wide open and your mouth closed if you wish to develop the habit of prompt decision.” ~Napolean Hill.

This is shouting out at me today and makes total sense. As a blue I see that I was missing out on so much stuff because I was so busy being right and telling everyone what they should do. Wow! Was I a know it all.

I am really proud of myself today because I am really seeing the growth in myself over the last few months. I’m glad I loved myself enough to take the time to learn the skill of listening. Yes for us blues this is a skill. I am far from where I need to be but I am seeing how this skill is important in 3 important areas.

#1 Building relationships with prospects. We blues are so passionate and excited about Mentoring For Free that we just want to shout it out to the world. We want to tell our prospects our story and how MFF helped us. But when talking to a prospect, it is not about me, it is about them. We need to listen. How do we know how to help them or what their needs are if we don’t listen? How do you know how they feel if we don’t listen. This is why Michael does the Colors Training. We listen for the colors. We don’t talk for the colors. The more we listen the more we build relationships.

#2 Personal development and learning. One of the biggest things for me was last year when I realized that things were not working for me. I spent so much time knowing everything that my up line told me and being right that I realized I didn’t know anything at all. I realized I was a blue pretending to be a red. I was what you would call a know it all. The moment I stopped listening to my up line and started seeking knowledge and started being open to other ideas, I found Mentoring For Free. By the time I got here I was beat up and black and blue (as Michael would say). Thank God for the failure in that first business. Had it not been for the failure I would not be where I am today. It is almost like an alcoholic. I had hit rock bottom and was ready to put my ego aside and listen. I am amazed at my growth personally over the last few months and I know it is because of Mental Cleanse but more importantly it skill of listening that I am developing. It's not just listening, but it is really hearing.

#3 listening to my heart through meditations. The most amazing thing I am learning is about how terrific I really am. With positive self talk and only allowing the positive into my brain I am really finding out who I am. Not who I wanted the world to think I am or what others thought of me, but who I am. When I am quiet and I just listen, I find that things just come to me. I have amazing clarity in what I need to do. So then I can take action.

I think this is what the author meant when he said “Keep your eyes and ears wide open and your mouth closed if you wish to develop the habit of prompt decision.”
