What is the best system to generate traffic without going broke?

On one of the forums that I belong to someone asked, "What is the best system to generate traffic without going broke?". This is a great question. All over the internet there are many people advertising that they have a system the "does it all for you". I'm sure you have seen those too. I can assure you that is a lie. I promise you over the last 6 years I have seen it all and checked out many "systems". Here's what I learned....

There isn't one system or method that will bring you traffic. But there are many ways very inexpensive ways to generate traffic to your site. Mike Dillards Building on a budget course is excellent for newbies learning how to build on a budget.

I use many methods to generate traffic to my sites.

Here are a few of the free methods that I use.

Squidoo is my number 1 method! I get huge traffic and it is free + you can get paid with them.

My second is my blog.

3rd is forums. Just write good content and never advertise. Place you link in your signature. When people like what you write, they will often visit your website to see what you are all about.

I also utilize facebook, twitter and myspace...........all free.

You just need to invest the time and don't ever directly market. Instead build relationships and help others. When people like what you have to say, they will click your link or visit your profile in order to check it out. It's pretty cool.

I'm Loving Squidoo Today

I created this lens less than 2 weeks ago and today I see that it is ranking #9 in business and #217 overall. This is really cool. Plus I've had over 100 hits. The really cool thing is that it has been indexed with Google and I just did a search and it is number 1!

Here is the exciting part. It took me about 15 minutes to create this lens. And now I am getting FREE traffic. Plus I get to help others and show them what I'm doing and that it works.

Blogging to the Bank 3.0 - Honest Review

By now I think most people in the world know about blogs.

What most don’t know as there is a great income to be made as well for free.

Rob Benwell is only a mere 24 years old and has already made several million dollars. Early in 2006 he shared his secrets with the world in his highly successful Blogging To The Bank ebook and has made making money online a whole lot easier for everyone.

How I'm using Twitter to generate traffic

If you are not on twitter, you need to be. It generates huge traffic for me. The key is you want to follow people who have the same interests as you. Once you start to follow people, they will begin to follow you. Then as you begin to update your tweets (just let people know what your are doing) you will start to see traffic to your site.

How do you find people that have the same interest? What I do is I use Twitter Search. I type in a keyword of something that is of interest to me. For example I love Squidoo. So I do a Twitter Search for Squidoo. This will show me all of the latest Tweets with the word Squdioo in the post. I then start visiting their lenses and rating their lenses. When I find a lens that I love, I give it five stars, leave a comment and then follow the person on twitter. Most people will reciprocate. It is a great tool.

With this statagy I now have over 900 followers.

Why you should use Squidoo to grow your business.

You do not need to invest in advertising to grow a business. I am now successfully growing my business by building relationships and I'm not spending money on advertising. What is my favorite method? Squidoo. You are probably wondering what is Squidoo and how can it help my online business.


Squidoo is a website that allows anyone to create a lens for free. A lens is a single page that you can create about any topic you want. You can write about your business or offer tips and help to people.


I discovered Squidoo about a year ago. I was looking for some free ways to market my business and I was amazed at how easy it was to create my first lens. I love the fact that I can do my own thing and be myself. Yes, I used Squidoo to market my business but it really is so much more. It is a place where I can really express myself. It is freeing to me to be able to express what I am really passionate about.
